Kids are connected because we are connected. I am not going to pretend to be the perfect parent that doesn’t let my kid on my device. She’s almost 2, (and my niece is 4) and sometimes, when we are out at a restaurant – Momma just needs a moment to eat in peace. Our go to app of choice – Youtube. I was excited to see that Talking Tom and Friends were being added to the Youtube Kids App!
I love Talking Tom and Friends because while it’s a cartoon it’s one that’s hilarious that everyone can enjoy. While the little ones won’t really “get it” it’s entertaining for us big kids. They just premiered their first two episodes in a 52 episode season. The episodes are only 11 minutes long, and they have mini episodes in between. All on YouTube. The next episode is airing next Thursday, May 21st.
The series follows the adventures and hijinks of the optimistic gang as they make their own show from the (relative) comfort of Tom’s garage-turned-app studio. Outfit7 Limited’s Talking Tom and Friends are known worldwide from a series of mobile apps, which have been downloaded over 2.6 billion times and played by 250 million fans each month.
I love them because I crack up. When I need a minute at work, or while I’m taking a “mom moment” I watch and crack up. Talking Tom and Friends instantly puts me in a better mood.
The first episode aired on April 30th:
Synopsis: In this episode “Untalking Tom” some silly hijinks happen and may ruin the gang’s game plan for entering the So You Think You Can App – App contest!! The biggest App contest of their careers.
Episode 2: “Assertive App” is a funny episode all about how to be assertive and get things done… The Tom and Ben way… lol.
Talking Tom and Friends animated series features an all-star voice cast led by Golden Globe®-nominee Colin Hanks (“Fargo,” “Orange County,” “Mad Men,” “Dexter”) as wisecracking Tom, and Tom Kenny (“SpongeBob SquarePants,” “Adventure Time With Finn & Jake”) as Hank – the latest character to join the Talking Tom and Friends gang.
The series also features YouTube star Lisa Schwartz as Angela (“Not Cool”), James Admomian (“Comedy Bang Bang!,” “Gravity Falls”) as Ben, and Maria Bramford (“WordGirl,” “Adventure Time With Finn & Jake”) as Ginger.
The free YouTube Kids app launches today in the U.S. for Android and iOS mobile devices. Designed specifically for kids, the app will provide a range of age-appropriate videos and channels. The interface is built for smaller fingers, with a pared-down screen and large tiles through which kids can easily swipe. A mix of entertainment and education, the YouTube Kids app comes with parental controls, including limiting time spent watching videos.
